Mosquito Control Companies in Texas

These pest control companies in Texas treat yards for mosquitoes. Texas has 85 identified mosquito species. In urban Texas, West Nile virus is carried by the southern house mosquito, and the yellow fever and Asian tiger mosquitoes, both common biters, tend to stay within 200 to 300 yards of where they breed. That makes standing water on and around your own property the place to start. Mosquitoes can breed in as little as a tablespoon of water, and the Texas Department of State Health Services advises emptying water-holding containers at least weekly.

Mosquito control for hire for a homeowner or a homeowners association needs a structural license in the Pest category. Installing a misting system with no service after the sale needs no license, so ask a company that sells misters whether it also services them, and under which license. Water that cannot be drained can be treated with a larvicide such as Bti.
